This kit takes children on a journey through the wonders of fall and the changes happening all around us. Just like leaves change color and the air turns crisp, change happens in our homes, schools, and communities. Community helpers like firefighters, doctors, police officers, and teachers make change easier by keeping us safe and supported, and traditions help us feel grounded.
Children will also discover the lively nighttime communities of nocturnal animals – complete with several silly animal jokes! Through playful learning, they’ll gain confidence in navigating change with curiosity, positivity, and resilience.
Across this preschool learning kit’s four weeks’ worth of lessons, students:
- Flip, sizzle, and serve as grill chefs while learning fire and heat safety.
- Search for lost (stuffed animal) critters, rescue them, and chat about how to care for them.
- Design, create, and “drive” cardboard fire trucks, mail trucks, and more while chatting about these community helpers’ jobs.
- Craft nighttime animal puppets and explore how light and dark creates and hides their shadows.
