Four weeks of learning in one kit—all about fascinating homes and habitats across time and nature—can be your complete May curriculum or enhance your existing preschool lesson plans.
Want more guided play in your center’s day? Need help going deeper with learning? Need more lesson and activity ideas to reinforce kindergarten ready skills? Need help engaging families? We’ve got you covered!
In our individual preschool learning kits, timeless preschool themes rule the day. Educators can unbox and organize the kit’s contents around their existing themes and units for use any time of year, ensuring teachers are supported and in control of their days.
What does the forest feel like, and what words can describe it? How can we use our strengths to help others, the way animals do in the wild? What would it have been like to communicate with each other back when dinosaurs roamed the earth versus what it’s like now with today’s technology tools? These are just some of the questions that get little minds going in the Homes and Habitats kit.
Students get to be archeologists, ocean explorers, beach vacationers, frozen fossils, and more as they nurture vital early development skills through various habitat activities for preschoolers. They explore how animals, past and present, live and relate—all through play!
And more!
Good question! Each kit ships in one box and includes:
In every resource, we seek to stoke a child’s sense of creativity, agency, and joy.
Dinosaur Moves
“Roar! Roar! Stomp your feet. Tyrannosaurus wants to eat. Theropod, sit on your knees. Fossilize yourself and freeze.” Through a memorable and playful rhyme, pint-sized paleontologists build gross motor skills as they stomp, stretch, and move like different dinosaurs. Then they’ll practice self-expression and storytelling by role-playing their favorite dino and sharing how it moves.
Ocean Float or Sink
Science hats on! What happens when we turn fresh water into salty ocean water? Let’s find out.
Little scientists will boost fine motor skills as they carefully measure, pour, and mix salt into water to create their own “ocean.” Then they’ll put their scientific thinking to work and make predictions: Will our (plastic) sea creatures sink or float? Time to drop them in and see what happens.
The weekly Family Newsletter is an excellent way to engage families and – psst – show off all the excellent learning at your school!
Just some of the activity ideas that little ones and families love in the Jurassic Journey Family Newsletter (one of the four included in the kit):
Take your paleontologist-in-training on an archeological dig. Bury toy dinosaurs and toy eggs in a park sandbox. Let your little one dig and describe every find in detail—they’ll be thrilled to share how much they’ve learned.
Every Family Newsletter includes a QR code packed with ideas. This edition takes families to research-backed article about why so many preschoolers are obsessed with dinosaurs, and more.
